Rare BMC c1907

Rare BMC c1907
This lovely rare American bear was made by Bruin Manufacturing Company c1907 and still retains his full label on foot. It is rare to find a BMC bear with full label intact. Ted has overall wear and balding to the mohair. He is quite "slumpy" these days but remains in strong condition with some repairs to the felt paw pads and a hole to the left foot pad. There is a non-working squeaker in his tum and he measures 12" tall - please enquire for more details.

The Bruin Manufacturing Company was a briefly existing firm that established itself in New York City in 1907. After a trial period of stamping their trademark onto the foot, it was decided that a silky woven label with the initials “BMC” was a more permanent form of identification. The shoe button eyes were usually placed close together, with long pointed noses and ears set wide apart on the side of the head. These cuddly toys were made to a very high standard with good quality mohair and imported voice boxes from Germany. As the firm was only in production for two years, Bruin creations are extremely rare and in great demand.
