|
This beautiful Farnell Pip dog dates to the 1920s and is in lovely, original condition. He is fully jointed, filled with wood wool and even wears a gorgeous Pip Squeak and Wilfred ribbon around his neck. This delightful old fellow measures 13" tall to the tip of his ears
Pip, Squeak and Wilfred was a long-running British newspaper strip cartoon published in the Daily Mirror from 1919 to 1956. It concerned the adventures of an orphaned family of animals. Pip, who assumed the "father" role, was a dog, while the "mother", Squeak, was a penguin. Wilfred was the "young child" - a rabbit with very long ears who could only say “gug” and “nunc”.
